Indian Railways is completing 100 years of Electric traction on 3rd Feb. 2025, as the inaugural run of Indian’s electric train service took place on February ’03’, 1925, connecting Bombay Victoria Terminus and Kurla Harbour100% Electrification of Railway network is also coinciding with 100 years of electric Traction.It is a historical in SECR 100% Electrification has been achieved on ‘14th Dec 2024’ i.e. on occasion of National Energy Conservation Day. It is a historical feat where Railways moved towards environmental sustainable mode of Rail Transport.
On 22 Jan’2025, South East Central RailwayGeneral Manager Sri Tarun Prakash started celebrating the occasion of glorious 100 Years of Electric Traction in Indian Railway with unveiling of banner. Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Sri Ramendra Kumar Tewari, Principal Chief Signal & Telcom Engineer Sri S. K. Solanki, Sri RajmalKhoiwalDRM/ Bilaspur & other Railway officials were also presence on this event.
This has been displayed prominently at all Divisional offices, Loco Sheds, TRD depots, Crew booking Lobbies, Running Rooms, Electrical Field offices, Stations and other prominently places. Railwaymen are taking pride in witnessing this mega event.
All Locomotive and OHE Tower Wagons have been provided with a sticker on “100 years of Electric Traction” to mark the occasions.
