SECR is the freight carrier of the Nation. SECR is 2nd highest freight loading Zone of Indian Railway. In financial year 2023-24, SECR has loaded 236 Million Tons of freight (+10% growth).
*Coaching Services*
In previous financial year, we have started 08 pairs of new passenger services from important stations of our railway and 06 pairs of trains have been extended. Various trains have been given new halts at 16 stations.
In view of the rush of passengers, more than 367 additional coaches were installed previous financial year. Additional 32 coaches have been provided in this Financial Year till date.
For the convenience of passengers, provision of more comfortable and safe, LHB coaches has been made in place of traditional ICF coaches in 3 more trains in the year 2023-24. Along with this, 3rd AC Economy Coaches have been installed in 15 trains in year 2023-24.
In previous financial year, 23 trips of Bharat Gaurav Trains and 11 trips of Aastha Special Trains were operated.
*Passenger Amenities*
SECR is committed to enhance the passenger amenities.
Arrangements have been made for easy availability of tickets to passengers, cleanliness in station premises and trains along with new facilities like unreserved ticket from mobile, ticket checking from hand held terminal etc.
13 foot over bridges and 09 high level platforms were completed in the previous financial year. 01 FOB has been provided in this Financial Year till date.
Facility of 25 Lifts and 14 Escalators is available at various stations and work of installation of 04 Escalators and 09 Lifts is in progress.
Free Wi-Fi facility has been provided for passengers on the platform at 204 stations.
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, 47 stations are being developed at a cost of more than 1800 crores to provide world-class facilities to the passengers.
Apart from the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, 03 stations of our railway, Bilaspur, Raipur and Durg are being redeveloped
*Security*
Keeping in mind the safety and security of the passengers, 658 CCTV cameras have been installed at 25 stations and 244 coaches of trains.
With the help of these cameras, along with preventing criminal and suspicious activities, help is also being received in recovering the luggage left behind by the passengers at the stations.
Railway Protection Force has reunited 275 in year 2023 and 126 in 2024 children separated from their families with their families safely by running 'Operation Nanhe Farishte' campaign.
Under 'Operation Amanat', lost items of passengers worth more than 2 crores have been returned in year 2023. More than 99 Lakhs have been returned in 2024 till date.
By running ‘Operation Narcos’ against illegal drug trafficking, drugs worth more than one 1.36 crore have been seized in 2023 and 1.5 Crores in 2024 till date.
For the convenience and safety of women passengers, 'Akshita' safe bubble has been successfully implemented at important stations platform.
'Meri Saheli' campaign has been launched to ensure the safety of passengers, especially women passengers.
Emergency Medical Services are available at Bilaspur Station.
*Passenger complaints*
Passenger complaints are being resolved promptly through Rail Madad App and Helpline number 139 and social media. Special War Rooms have been constituted at each Division (Bilaspur, Raipur & Nagpur) and Zonal Railway Headquarters for this purpose.
*Infrastructure*
In previous financial year, we have completed the work of 143 km new sections [133.3 KMs Multi-tracking, 3.8 KMs New Lines and 6 KMs Gauge Conversion] including Bilaspur- Uslapur ROR have been opened. Total 421 KMs have been targeted for FY 2024-25 [224 KMs of Multi-tracking, 20 KMs of New Lines and 177 KMs of Gauge conversion].
In the next 9 months we will be doing Multi-Tracking works. This includes three very highly utilized section, namely (a) Bilaspur-Jharsuguda 4th Line, (b) Anuppur – Katni 3rd Line, (c) Rajnandgaon- Nagpur 3rd line. With the completion of these works Mobility will improve considerably.
However, till then we are following up to improve punctuality of trains by –
